Mystical and magical flavors and sights await you on this trekking and culinary tour through Peru. Join me for 10 days of delicious tastes and adventure as we explore this magnificent country. Peru’s offerings are a treat for all your senses, just wait until you see what this sophisticated ancient society created!
We will be staying in wonderful first class lodgings in settings that you can only imagine until you actually see them.
While in Lima we will visit the sights and begin our culinary curriculum which includes visiting the open air markets to purchase the finest fresh ingredients. You will envy the good fortune of Peruvian Chefs that have such a huge variety of conventional and exotic fruits, vegetables, and seafood to choose from when creating new and innovative dishes. Our visit will mirror the daily trips most Peruvian chefs personally make to these markets to pick out the base ingredients that have made Peruvian cuisine so famous. Next it’s off to the Ceviche Festival and beyond!
From Lima we will travel on to Cusco. Near Cusco we will enjoy an amazing lunch surrounded by the most impressive Inca Fortress, Sacsayhuaman. This country lunch is prepared by the Chef of “La Cicciolina Restaurant” where he uses ingredients from the region; you will enjoy the fullest flavors that Peru has to offer in a magical and unique location.
Next we hike the Inca Trail (we’ll make arrangements for you if hiking isn’t your thing); we’ll be walking on the footsteps of millions and millions from before. Then it’s on to Inti Punku, the Inca gate of the sun, here we get our first sight of Machupicchu. We finally cross the ridge that leads to our destination, and the full grandeur of the greatest archaeological discovery of modern times.
Next on our journey…. the Sacred Valley of the Incas and more culinary surprises. We will also be visiting the Pisac Market, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. Back to Cusco and on to Puno. Along the way to Puno we will visit Andahuaylillas, La Raya, Pucara & Racchi. Puno! Guided tour of Uros Island: The residents of Uros islands are aymaras who have inherited the way of life of the long-gone Uros. Their livelihood is based on the benefits of a unique plant: the totora reed. They use it to build their houses, boats and even the floating islands they live on, periodically adding new layers of reeds. Much more to see and visit in this region, unbelievable!
We end our tour where it began in Lima. On your last day enjoy a free afternoon, a massage therapy session and a fantastic diner at “Costanera 700”. This restaurant is famous for fusing Asian and Peruvian cuisine.
You will have free time throughout your journey to explore and experience the land of the Inca’s at your own will. I have designed a trip in which you and I will indulge in this amazing culture. I have only touched on a few of the things we will be seeing and doing, there’s so much more. I will be happy to send you the full itinerary and list of lodgings you only have to ask. Space must be kept to a limited number on this trip to insure the high standard of quality that I desire for my guests. I hope you will consider joining me.
Nos Vemos,
