Capetown - Winelands and Garden Route

10 Days / 9 Nights


 
       
Day 1: (Nov. 2)  
Late arrival in Cape Town followed by private transfer to hotel. Check in at hotel and evening and Dinner at leisure  
   
Day 2: (Nov 3)  

Breakfast at the hotel followed by a trip up Table Mountain (weather dependant), and then a Full day Cape Peninsula Tour, including English speaking guide. Highlights: Coastal drive through Clifton & Camps Bay; Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve & Cape Point and Penguin Viewing at Boulders Beach. Lunch at the Two Oceans Restaurant (included), dinner at leisure.

 
   
Day 3: (Nov 4)  

Breakfast at the hotel followed by transfer to the V&A Waterfront where they will board a boat and do a tour of Robben Island. After returning, the guests will have lunch at the V&A Waterfront (at Leisure) and then be transferred to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens to enjoy a relaxed afternoon walking around. Dinner at the Gold Restaurant – guests enjoy a festive evening with 14 dishes from around Africa and entertainment (included).

Day 4: (Nov. 5)  

Breakfast at the hotel and then Morning at Leisure. Guests will then be transferred to the Winelands. Wine tasting at Babylonstoren, followed by lunch at their famous Babel restaurant. After lunch, transfer to Stellenbosch for a short panoramic city tour, guests will be taken to their hotel to check in. Afternoon and Dinner at leisure.

 
   
Day 5: (Nov. 6)  

Breakfast at the hotel followed by a Full day in the Winelands region. Transfer to Delaire Graff Wine Estate, where guests will fall in love with the views and the wines.

After tasting wines, guests will be transferred to Boschendal Wine Estate. Here guests will enjoy a lovely wine tasting, followed by gourmet picnics under the large Oak trees at Boschendal (included). After lunch, the group will be transferred to Franschhoek town for some time to enjoy the small town.

Guests are transferred back to their hotel with time to freshen up before dinner. Dinner at Leisure.

 
   
Day 6: (Nov. 7)  
Breakfast at the hotel followed by checkout. Transfer to the Hermanus via the beautiful Pringle Bay road, a coastal road with breathtaking views. Guests arrive in Hermanus and enjoy some leisure time. Check in to the hotel and then be transferred to the harbor where they will enjoy a boat trip to hopefully see some Southern Right Whales. After the whale watching experience, the group will be transferred back to the hotel and enjoy their evening at leisure.
 
   
Day 7: (Nov. 8)  

Breakfast at the hotel followed by checkout. Transfer to the Garden Route (approx. 5-6 hours) and take in the beautiful scenery. On Arrival, Guests can check in to the hotel and have an afternoon and evening at Leisure.

*Optional: Sunset cruise on the lagoon to the Knysna heads and back.

 
   
Day 8: (Nov. 9)  

Breakfast at the hotel followed by a morning at Leisure. Guests will then be transferred to the dock where they will take a boat transfer across the lagoon to Featherbed Nature Reserve. There, they will be taken on a guided tour on a 4x4 vehicle and trailer drive up the headland onto the Reserve, stopping at spectacular viewpoints. Their Specialist guide giving information on history, fauna & flora of this unique destination.
Optional guided 2.2km walk through coastal forest and fynbos into ancient sea caves.
The group will then enjoy a world-renowned buffet lunch at an outdoor restaurant setting under a canopy of Milkwood trees, before being transferred back by boat across the lagoon. This is a great outing, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Guests will enjoy the afternoon and evening at Leisure

 
   
Day 9: (Nov. 10)  

Breakfast at the hotel before being transferred to Storms River (approx. 1hr drive). The group will be taken to the Tsitsikamma forest where they will enjoy the Tsitsikamma Woodcutters Journey. This is a 2.5 – 3hr tour down the old Stormsriver Pass through the indigenous Tsitsikamma forest from the comfort of a specially-designed vehicle. Follow the elephant migratory route, passing yellowwoods and stinkwoods, while learning about the history of the area and its indigenous fauna and flora. We introduce you to a fairy world of a 450-500 year old, “Human like Tree”, our own unique “Forest Guard” who watch over the forest with human like faces.

This tour includes a tea stop of Apple tart with cream and coffee, tea or juice

After retuning, the guests will have lunch at Marylin’s Diner. This old school diner will take you back to the good old days, where they will enjoy a 3 course meal (included).

After lunch, the guests will be transferred to Monkeyland where essentially there are 3 different sanctuaries the guests can choose to visit – Monkeyland, Birds of Eden or Jukani (Wildlife Sanctuary). Included in the package is a combo ticket, so guests can choose 2 out of the 3 to visit. This is a great afternoon.

The group will then be transferred back to Kynsna and enjoy the evening at leisure.

 
   
Day 10: (Nov. 11)  

Breakfast at hotel and then check out. The group will be transferred to the George Airport to board a flight either to Cape Town or Johannesburg, and then a connecting flight home.

Deposits  

Payment of a 50% deposit due at the time of booking to reserve your place. Full payment is due 60 days prior to departure. A maximum number of 10 guests will go on this tour. All accommodations and services are subject to availability at the time of booking.

 
   
Cancellation Policy  
All cancellations must be made in writing and be received by email within the outlined time frames listed.

  • More than 90 days before departure of the trip: 50% cancellation fee over the deposit.
  • Less than 90 days before departure: no refunds can be guaranteed. TWS will try to get as much refunded as possible to the client upon negotiation with the local travel suppliers.
