Livermore Valley Wine Country Chilean Wine Country Tour

 
       
Day 1: Santiago Arrival  

Morning arrival and transfer to our hotel.  In the afternoon we will head to the arty bohemian district of Bellavista to  visit La Chascona, which one of the former homes of Pablo Neruda, winner of the Noble Prize in literature. Following this visit we will go to San Cristobal Hill for a wonderful panoramic view of Santiago. Reservations have been made for dinner at Bocanariz, famous for it’s fabulous wine selection and epicurean delights.

Day 2: Colchagua Valley  

Morning private transfer from the NOI Viticura to Casa Silva Winery in the Colchagua Valley. Vina Casa Silva has the oldest wine cellar in the Colchagua Valley. Beneath its traditional and historic façade, however, is one of Chile’s most modern wine facilities. B, L.

Day 3: Colchagua Valley  

Morning private transfer to Santa Cruz Winery. Immerse yourself in the world of wine, in the Lolol Valley, 20 km. from Santa Cruz. From the conception of the terroir, to the management of the vineyard, to the winemaking process that results in premium wines: Chamán Reserva, Chamán
Gran Reserva and Tupu Edición Limitada. Next sotp Vui Manent Winery, Viu Manent is a Chilean winery owned by the Viu family. It was founded in 1935 when the Catalonian immigrant Miguel Viu-
García and his two sons Agustín and Miguel Viu-Manent founded Bodegas Viu in Santiago de Chile. They bottled and sold wine on the local market under the “Vinos Viu” brand. B, l.

Day 4: Colchuagua Valley  

Morning departure via private transfer to Neuquén . In a unique hill, in the heart of Colchagua, our Neuquén mountain vineyard grants a 360° view to enjoy its extreme nature and wines of exceptional quality. Enjoy the breathtaking landscape of the valley, riding through the rugged terrain of the hill. Return private transfer to Santiago, dinner reservations have been arranged at Mestizo Restaurant, a nice walk from our hotle through the beautiful Viticura park. B,l.

Day 5: Casa Blanca Valley and Isla Negra  

Morning private transfer to Viña Casas del Bosque. Casas del Bosque is one of the most important wineries of Casablanca. This winery had the honor of being named for the second consecutive year as the “Chilean Wine Producer of the Year” in the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition, held in London, England. After a delicious lunch we will travel on to Pablo Neruda’s Isla Negra Museum Home. The evocative power of the objects he kept here and its surroundings dominated by the presence of the sea, the house in Isla Negra is a visual and material compendium of Neruda's poetic imagination. The place was originally called Las Gaviotas (Sea Gulls). The poet renamed it Isla Negra: “negra” (black) for the stones surrounding it. Dinner included tonight Pasta E Vino. B, L, D.

Day 6: Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar  

This morning we will take a tour of Valparaiso. Our tour starts off at Errazuriz street where examples of early 20th century British influenced architecture can be seen. We will visit the 21 of May view point with its excellent vistas of the colorful hillside houses, the port and across the whole bay. Then we will take the Artilleria elevator (funicular) and descend to take a trolley that will lead us towards Concepción Hill. Later, head to one of the hills where we will visit the “La Sebastiana” museum, one of the former homes of  Pablo Neruda, apart from it’s interesting architecture reflecting the concept of the city, the place houses many of the poet´s collections. Later we will take the coastal road to the neighboring city of Viña del Mar, which is also known as The Garden City. Here we will visit the floral clock and the Vergara pier, the municipal Casino and the famous Peru Avenue. Our trip continues as we ride along the coast where we can observe the beauty of this unique place. We will then return to the center of Viña del Mar, where we will finish our tour with a visit to the Francisco Vergara plaza, the Municipal Theater and Sucre Plaza. Lunch: Jaiba & Cordero Restaurant, Dinner: Tierra de Fuego Restaurant. B,L,D.

Day 7: Casa Blanca Valley  

On our last day we will visit Indomita Vineyard. Indomita is situated on a gorgeous hillside with views toward the Andes. After a fine wine tasting we will transfer to Santiago’s international airport to either continue your Chilean adventure or return home.

Athletic Ability Level  
There are activities in this tour that require a moderate degree of athletic ability. If you are able to climb stairs without assistance, play golf or tennis regularly, hike, bike or swim you will be in fine shape for this trip. You can do as little or as much as you like on this tour. Remember, lifting a wine glass requires desire!

Deposits  

Payment of a 30% deposit due at the time of booking to reserve your place. Full payment is due 60 days prior to departure.  A maximum number of 16 guests will go on this tour.

 
   
Cancellation Policy  

All cancellations must be made in writing and be received within the outlined time frames listed.

  • More than 60 days before departure of the trip: 50% cancellation fee over the deposit.
  • 45-60 days before the start of the trip and after the total payment has been made: 50% cancellation fee over the total payment.
  • 30-44 days before the start date of the trip and after the total payment has been made: 80% cancellation fee over the total payment.
  • Less than 30 days before departure: no refunds can be guaranteed. TWS will try to get as much refunded as possible to the client upon negotiation with the local travel suppliers.
 
   
Suggestions  

Arriving a day or so before a tour begins is a great way of starting out well rested. We can accommodate early arrivals and make the arrangements for you.
